Once again it has been a while since my last adventure into text that I call this blog. Monday saw the band heading into the capital for our first ever London show. In the two years since the band started I find it hard to believe that we have never once played the city, so with only a weeks notice we packed up the car and embarked on our journey.
Once again we decided to neglect all good advice and bad press about the travel system in London by heading into the heart of it with no sat nav and our only map reference being a vague congestion charge area map in a lay by on the outskirts leading to our destination. This as I'm sure you could imagine didn't work in our favour and left us in the belly of the beast somewhat amongst the chaos of London town with nothing more than Toms not so accurate google phone and some now melting Easter eggs that Tom and Ben figured were essential for the journey.
After what felt like forever we managed to find our way to the venue, we were tired and aching but a quiet sense of victory was held by all knowing we had made it. Our set was good, sound was awesome on our end which always helps to make playing live that little bit more enjoyable. For the last few months of touring and shows our friend Tom had been filling in on bass for us, although an outcome we all knew was inevitable, the realisation nearing the conclusion of our set that this was to be Toms final show bought a significant feeling of sadness in that it was the closing part of a small chapter in the bands lifespan that in my eyes has shaped the band for the better on so many levels. The night was bought to a close with my over consumption of alcohol and man chats with Mark in a spoons opposite the venue, not to forget Ben's sudden bought of illness which lead to vomiting in bins, loading bays and toilets. All in all a very productive night.
Next week sees the band heading back into the studio to piece together some new songs, its something that has taking us a while to get round to doing but also something we cant wait to get going with.Alot is changing in the band and i think its got us all totally stoked on the months to come. I think that's all ill say on that, just keep your eyes peeled for new things including new merch going on pre order sale in the next few days.
